Stepless Analog Gain Knob

The D30 DSLR camera shotgun mic provides a stepless analog gain knob, adjustable from -10dB to 15dB non-linearly. It concurrently controls the microphone amplifier and headphone amplifier. Either input signals or output signals can be adjusted to a proper level for distortionless sound. 

SYNCO D30 offers an analog gain knob that can be adjusted -10dB to 15dB.
SYNCO D30 features an overdrive protection system that gives 10dB attenuation when the audio reaches 124 dB SPL.

Doubled Sound Track Protection

The embedded overdrive protection system protects the sound recording from distortion when it reaches the maximum sound pressure level of 124 dB SPL. The safety channel ensures the audio won't be broken or lost at the peak of SPL by 10dB attenuation.

Real-time Audio Monitoring System

A 3.5mm TRS headphone monitoring jack is used to real-time check what's got in the soundtrack ultimately. The shotgun mic for video camera is paired with those headphones under 55 Ohm impedance to monitor the audio for energy saving.

Frequently Asked Questions

It needs specific analysis. High sensitivity can provide a higher input level to the mixer, and improve the signal-to-noise ratio. But the output voltage is also high when sensitivity is too high, easy to cause distortion.

1. The handling noises of touching the tube and pressing the button are difficult to solve. It is recommended completing the shotgun mic settings before recording and avoiding adjustment during use.
2. The button sound is the mechanical sound caused by the button diaphragm. The mute button can be used to reduce the button sound, but it cannot be completely solved. The D30 does not have mute button. It is recommended completing the microphone settings before recording.

1. Make sure that you are recording with the D30 super cardioid shotgun mic instead of the device's inbuilt microphone.
2. Adjust the gain of the device to appropriate level. If the gain of the device is too high, the self-noise will be more obvious.
3. Choose 75Hz/150Hz low cut to filter out unnecessary environmental noise according to actual situation.

Short press the ON-OFF button for overdrive protection function, which activates the safety channel. Then the mic starts dual channel recording. The safety channel, also known as left output channel would attenuate the level by 10dB. In case of overloading, overdrive protection ensures you have a backup channel.
(Note: When overdrive protection is on, the sound heard in the left will be significantly lower than that in the right during headphone monitoring, which is normal.)

Make sure you are using the Type-C to 3.5mm TRRS cable with smartphone. The Type-C to 3.5mm TRS cable is not compatible with phone and cannot use the microphone properly.
